Seven GEMS Education Students Listed ‘Top’ In Prestigious Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards

Cambridge Assessment International Education has announced this year’s winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in the UAE, and seven students from The Winchester School, Jebel Ali have been named for their exceptional academic performance in the June 2018 Cambridge Examination cycle.

The Outstanding Cambridge Student Awards programme celebrates the success of students taking Cambridge exams in more than 40 countries worldwide, and are a group of awards issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education. The title categories include ‘Top in Country’, ‘Best Across’ and ‘High Achievement’.

The awards recognise student achievement in Cambridge examinations – the primary purpose of the awards is to celebrate and recognise the success of high-performing Cambridge learners, such as those from GEMS The Winchester School, Jebel Ali.

Meenakshi Dahiya, CEO and Principal, GEMS The Winchester School, Jebel Ali, said: “I am absolutely delighted with this year’s results, and the achievements of some of our best students in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. I am so proud of the hard work from both our students and teachers, in light of the rigour of these examinations. I also would like to thank our parents, in their strong support which has ensured our successes year on year.”

Six GEMS pupils received ‘Top in UAE’ across a range of academic subjects at IGCSE, AS Level and A Level, including Sociology, Psychology, Physics, Accounting, Economics and Physics. One GEMS pupil was awarded the title of ‘UAE High Achiever’ for her work in Child Development at IGCSE Level.

Varun Santhosh Menon, who was awarded ‘Top in UAE’ for his A Level Economics exam results, and also GEMS topper, said: “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when I found out the news of my Physics exam. I am thrilled to have found out just how far all my hard work has gone.
