BUiD’s Project Management programmes received accreditation for the next five years from PMI Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC). GAC is the world’s leading specialised accrediting body for project management and related degree programmes. Graduates from BUiD’s Project Management programmes can now receive 1500 hours of project management’s experience credit towards earning the Project Management Professional certification (PMP).
Prof. Abdullah Alshamsi, BUiD’s Vice Chancellor said, “This new accreditation of our Project Management programmes falls in line with the rigorous standards BUiD strives to ensure in all its programmes , to maintain BUiD’s learning experience alongside international best practice”.
BUiD launched its first Masters programme in Project Management in 2004, and has since expanded to offer a specialised portfolio of Masters programmes in Project Management including Project Management, Construction Project Management, Infrastructure Project Management, Enterprise Risk Project Management and Information Technology Project Management.
These programmes are now accredited by the two most prestigious professional institutions, the Association of Project Management (APM) and PMI Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC). In order to achieve full GAC accreditation. BUiD demonstrated that its programmes met the GAC’s strict global standards of accreditation, which include faculty and student evaluations, onsite and online resources, annual self-evaluation, assessment objectives and outcomes, and proof of continuous improvements in the area of project management education.
The connection to professional bodies like PMI,APM and Advanced Writers brings an enhanced level of experience and intellectual skills to BUiD’s students. This will enable them to participate in PMI research projects, webinar and knowledge exchanges. BUiD’s Project Management programmes aim to develop talented, mature, professional project managers who possess the technical abilities and skills to manage complex projects.
