The University Of Manchester Wins ‘Best MBA Program’ Award At The Inaugural Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards

The University of Manchester was the winner of the ‘Best MBA Program’ award for its Alliance Manchester Business School Global Part-time MBA at the inaugural Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards 2019. The presentation took place at a gala occasion hosted at the Taj Dubai hotel on April 24th. The award was presented to the University’s Middle East Centre by Mr. Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City; and Khuloud Al Omian, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East.

Forbes Middle East brought together representatives from the region’s largest and most successful universities, academies and business schools for an exclusive celebration and networking event exploring the higher education sector.

Forbes Middle East awarded the Best MBA Program award to The University of Manchester Middle East Centre team in recognition of the outstanding success of the Manchester Global Part-time MBA programme in the region. The University has supported more than 2,500 part-time MBA students – all experienced and highly qualified working professionals – and graduated around 1,500 students, since opening the Middle East Centre in Dubai, in 2006. The Middle East Centre has developed into the largest and fastest-growing centre in the University’s international network comprising five hubs in key business cities around the world.

The Best MBA Program award was received on behalf of The University of Manchester by Randa Bessiso, Director – Middle East, who also participated in a panel discussion on regional higher education issues, at the awards event.

Speaking about the award, Randa Bessiso said: “The University of Manchester is delighted to receive the Best MBA Program award at the inaugural Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards. It is great news for our students and alumni, and recognises the tremendous work of the business school leadership team, academics and teaching faculty in designing and delivering the Global Part-time MBA programme, supported by the Middle East Centre here at the regional hub of business and education. The flexible, part-time blended learning format of the programme has proved to be very attractive and includes a significant amount of face to face contact with peers and faculty. Our students are able to learn while continuing to work, and acquire and apply new knowledge and skills quickly in the workplace, as well as build a professional network, with the support of a dedicated careers service.”

Xavier Duran, MBA Programmes Director at Alliance Manchester Business School, added: “The Manchester MBA has been delivered in the Middle East region for over 12 years and is at the heart of our activity at the University’s Middle East Centre in Dubai. I am delighted that the programme has received this important accolade from Forbes Middle East which is a testament to the Manchester Method and our staff, students and alumni in the region.”

Alliance Manchester Business School’s Global Part-time MBA is a two-year programme with options to accelerate study further, with as much face-to-face time with faculty as most full-time programmes. The programme is structured around four practical themes – Management in Practice; Value Creation in Business; Tailoring Your Journey; Professional Skills for Business; and with options to tailor further. An accelerated study route allows senior managers to complete the programme in 18 months. There is also an 18-month Accelerated Finance Pathway option for candidates with professional accountancy qualifications. Students can also further personalise the MBA programme with a range of electives to suit specific goals and interests.
