Zayed University Hosts 2019 Graduate Students Research Conference

Zayed University (ZU) in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Education, hosts the fifth UAE Graduate Students Research Conference (GSRC) this coming Tuesday, April 16th.

Taking place for the first time at the University’s campus in Abu Dhabi, the interdisciplinary academic event will share research conducted at universities across the country and their international partners.

The primary purpose of this conference is to provide opportunities for graduate students to share their research work among themselves, receive scholarly feedback and network professionally.

Prof. Nagi Wakim, Dean of ZU’s Graduate Studies, said, “We have received over 170 research papers authored by 349 students in the UAE and their collaborators in 16 international countries, of which 125 papers were accepted to participate at the GSRC.”

Adding, “The research papers submitted, cover five different tracks, in Arts Humanities & Social Sciences, Business and Management, Clinical Pre-Clinical Health and Life Sciences, Information Technology and Computer Science, and lastly Engineering and Physical Science.”

The event will also enable graduate students to showcase their innovative scholarship to various sectors of industry and government and receive feedback on practical aspects that may enhance the value of their research. Prospective graduate students will be able to learn about the different research opportunities available at the participating academic institutions.

The GSRC is organized in collaboration with Khalifa University, UAE University, American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah, British University in Dubai, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, New York University Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi University, and the University of Dubai.

Authors of the best research papers will be awarded during the closing session of the conference.
